Hi,
Michael Tsirlin here.
Couple days ago I began getting
message "Your hard drive run out of space"
And realy remains about 30 mg.
But when I reload system everything is OK
My h.d. space is back.and I work normaly.
I check my hardrive by scandisk it's ok.
I check system by AVG Free no viruses.
I check the system by Ad-aware, spaybot
and didn't find anything.
It wasn't before.

Any idea what's going on.

The system Windows 98

Thank

disable hibernation

and delete some things off of your disk, for god's sake

windows uses virtual memory, which requires hard drive space to work, not to mention most programs all have temporary files that fill up your hard drive while you're using them as well

"crap cleaner" time! CCleaner can help there as well as setting the "no paging file" option if necessary. CCleaner as well as RegCleaner are both freewares that will work in 98 as well as the latest version of Windows. The information on CCleaner as well as the download page is found at http://www.ccleaner.com/

RegCleaner removes the "leftovers" or "orphans" invalid registry values that uninstallers leave behind after a period of time. The details and download page for this are found at http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/regcleaner.htm

For adjusting the "swap file" as it is termed in 98 the following can be saved for reference. You set a limit on how much drive space will be used to avoid seeing this error reappear. But 30mb only is never advised for any version of Windows.
To adjust the virtual memory swap file

1.
In Control Panel, double-click System, click the Performance tab, and then click Virtual Memory.
2.
To specify a different hard disk, click the Let me specify my own virtual memory settings option. Then specify the new disk in the Hard disk box. Or type values (in kilobytes) in the Minimum or Maximum box. Then click OK

If you set the maximum swap file size in the Virtual Memory dialog box to the amount of free space currently on a drive, Windows 98 assumes that it can increase the swap file beyond that size if more free disk space becomes available. If you want to impose a fixed limit on the swap file size, make sure that the limit you choose is less than the current maximum http://www.microsoft.com/technet/archive/win98/reskit/part5/wrkc26.mspx?mfr=true
