HARD DRIVE transfer rates

I've got a 80gb ATA133 HD and a 6gb old drive running off one 80pin cable. I read somewhere that to get above ATA100(is it) you need this 80pin cable instead of the 40pin. How do i know if it is actually running at 133 and will it still let the new drive be at that speed with the old one on the same cable. Read somewhere about changing the settings in device manager or sumin, running win2000.

Cheers

ata133 doesn't refer to the speed... it refers to the interface... the RPM refers to the speed... ie. 7200 RPM, 10000RPM, 15000RPm... 7200 is standard in desktop computers
