Hard drive twitches and then dies

This weekend while I was working on a PC project my main drive (Seagate 500 GB) died. For the last two weeks, on bootup, I had been hearing a clicking noise in the case. I knew it was one of the drives, I just didn't know which one. When I went to boot the system I got a message that the drive was missing. Checked BIOS and subsequently the cables, still nothing. Ended up replacing both the 500 GB drives with a couple of 1 TB Seagates I had leftover from another project. Luckily I had performed a backup a few days before.

What happens to expired drives in my house. Interface pulled and holes drilled.

I chose the thermite option. Not sure if I want to post where you can buy the ingredients.

I bet the FBI could still recover data off it. You'd be surprised at the HDDs they work with. Not like you have to worry about the FBI, right? LOL Thing is, how do you know your data was not already leaked through your network? Or through Tempest? LOL J/K

Oh! You're from Germany! Well, our CIA and NSA has your data already my friend. LOL!
