I was having trouble booting my XP. It would be on a loop, telling me to start on Safe Mode, XP Normally and so on. XP would never start, so I boot with CD and enter the Recovery Console. I used CHKDSK /p /r and it said that it had unrecoverable errors. So I used FIXBOOT and it said it could not fix, the same problem. After that I went back to the Recovery Console and now says it does not even find a hard drive. I checked the BIOS Setup and it tells me there that HD it is "not present" . So, rebooting I get the message: No boot device available, Press 1 to try to retry or F2 for utilities.
After my screw up, does it mean I have a bad hard drive?
Is there any fixing before I wipe out the hard drive or buy a new one?
Thanks a lot.
