Hard drive

Optiplex

I have an old Dell Optiplex GX1 p3 with 450ghz cpu. I am looking to upgrade my 6gb HD but not sure how big a drive I can go for. Can someone please tell me if there are any limits and if so what they're likely to be. I am thinking of a 60 or 80 gb but just want to be sure my computer will accept this.

pop in windows xp or 2k sp3 or higher and theres no limit of the hardrive. for the older os i there is a 8gb limit for 95 and a 137gb limit for 98 me i think.

W2000 = W2K
For older sysstems youll want to consider BIOS level limitations, usually the 32GB limitation is the bothersome one

No idea what you just said. You'd be as well talking Martian. I ain't no computer whiz.

Do you mean if it has the physical connections? Well you could probably search for your computers stats somewhere, and see if tells you. It won't have SATA. Probably just any IDE hard drive will work, but Im not sure.
