Hi

Ive just installed my new motherboard, with one problem thought, in bios its not showing up my 2 ide hard drives only the sata ones are showing, thing is though is that they show up once i am logged into windows, how can they show up in windows and not in the bios, usually its the other way round  any ideas, by the way my board is a asus p5gdc deluxe. thanks :)

Hmmm, what a pickle we have here. Are you sure your loking in the IDE section for hard drives and not just the SATA one. Also, if you can see/uise them in windows then whats the problem, if it works dont interfere.

Yeh im positive im looking in the right place the screen shows all the current drives connected including the dvd drive which also shows up, and the problem is that i have an operating system on one of them drives and now i cant boot from them, it gets to the start up screen the one where the operating system logo comes up is but then i get a blue screen and it only happens on them ide drives, im currently running xp on my sata drive and it works fine, i judt dont get how its showing in windows and not bios. hmm

Not really sure whats happening then, try disconnecting the IDE drives rebooting with them disconnected get into wiondows then turn off connect them back up and see what happens then.
