So here's my troubles with this hard drive, it's a 200gb western digital caviar se sata2 i bought one and it broke so i sent it back and got a new one and it worked for a while and after about 2 months the computer started randomly restarting so i did a repair installation of xp and that fixed it for a little while and now about a month later i just completely reinstalled xp to fix something else on it and it has again started randomly restarting. the error report said to get the latest video card drivers which i did but that has done nothing and the computer is also much slower than it should be (it's a conroe e6400 with 2 gigs of memory) so i have concluded that it must be something with the hard drive, so i guess i'm gonna get another replacement. my thought, however, is to buy a new one first, probably faster like 10000 rpm or something and then i can backup the stuff to that and then have 2 hard drives but i have sort of lost faith in western digital so do you guys have any suggestions for the best 10000 or higher rpm hard drive but not too expensive? i've heard of some scsi or something hard drive that is really fast but i don't think i have the money for it, i really wanna spend no more than 200 for this. it can be sata 1 or 2 but that's probably about it, if you think it's better i can use ide also but whatever..

How can you be so sure it's your hard drive and...well, anything else? It could be spyware or a virus, bad RAM, bad drivers, a bad motherboard, power supply...the list goes on and on. Until the drive physically begins to malfunction or you run an extended test on it, don't say it's the problem...
