harddrive 3gb/s??

I have a seagate baracuda 3gbs/s sata hard drive. Does that mean it transfer at a rate of 3 gb/s?

If you don't have something to back you up, or don't know what you're talking about, please do not post...

Regardless of the system, even the fastest hard drives are still under about 200MB/s.

wow 197mb/s but then again i only get around 14 mb/s =( when moving files

Speeds can be all over the board depending on what you're doing. Sustained speeds might be rather slow, but some burst speeds could peak quite high. Though 14 does sound rather slow...

nexolus - It's Gb, not GB. It's basically 3.0 gigabits, or 300 megabytes a second. It's the interface's max speed, but of course is limited to the speed of the drive itself.
