Harddrive Partitioning Problems

Hi I just installed Windows on my new computer and before I installed it I split the disk in half (160GB) to 80GB each. Now I have everything installed but the D drive is not showing up in My Computer.. only the C: Drive is which only has 80GB. How do I make my D Drive appear as a separate drive??

when i mean split i mean that i partitioned half of it by inputting 80gb and the other unpartitioned. but now when windows xp is installed there is no D drive at all.

You most likely didnt format the D drive. Go under COntrol>Administrative tools>Computer managment>Storage>disk managment. Go ahead and format the D drive.
