Hi i tried to reinstall my window but when i get to the part that says press enter to install window it says " Setup did not find any hard disk drive installed in your computer" so i was unable to install window. But when i start up window and go into blue screen i see my hard drive, so what is wrong?

should i press f6 during the window installment to do a 3rd party thing?

What kind of Hard Drive (IDE/SATA, size, model), what version Windows (include SP if you know it), pre-built system or did you build it yourself?

i know for sure i have to install raid drivers before i install windows. but most people dont use a raid array, so it shouldn't be an issue.

whats your system configuration? ide/sata? you might try plugging the hard drive into a different part of the ribbon cable, or into a different sata port on the motherboard if its sata.

also if its a new build the hard drive might be defective.

Why? They said the system already recognizes the Drive. It's the Installation that's quirky.

This sounds like your board has a built in raid, you will need to get the raid drivers and put them onto a floppy disk, when you go to install windows and you see press F6 do that and put in your floppy disk, load the drivers and carry on with the install

:)

if you dont have a floppy download a tool called "nlite"

it will let you integrate drivers, service packs etc... into a windows cd

You dont need to install Raid drivers. Dont know what drive you have but if its a Sata drive and a older XP disk you probable need to install your (Sata) driver from a floppy at the F6. If you dont have a Floppy you can use nLite like said above to include them on your disk.
