Hardware Test?

I was wondering if anyone on here knows where you can download a free Hardware test program that will run in DOS and be bootable from a cd? You know for testing for example if your ram has any errors or problems or any other hardware for that matter.
 
The infamous memory tester called memtest is one dos tool run either a boot floppy or burned to a cd-r. The free tool sees two main sites and often found at others. http://www.memtest.org/ and http://www.memtest86.com/

Memtest is left running for several hours as a rule to allow the stress tests to repeat over and over as the installed memory is stress tested. At this late date just about any other diagnostic tool has a Windows gui. Memtest is the familiar name for most while other free tools have to be searched for.
