I'm running Vista on a laptop..
Firstly, I acquired a USB to IDE converter and the device works great.
So I decided to format this drive as NTFS so that I can use it for an installation of Windows in the near future.
Here's the problem, well two actually..
* Using Partition Magic I did a quick format and this returned an error saying I/O error, yet the device seemed to work fine.
* Having my concerns with the quick format I ran disk management and properly formatted the device, which took a long time. During this time my laptop went into hibernation, an oversight on my part. Now in disk management the hard-drive is listed as 'unknown .. unreadable'.
Please Help.
