Have a computer problem....

i dont know all that much about computers so i wasnt completely sure on where to put this post, so i chose here. Okay, everytime i go to scan for viruses, scan for spyware, convert video or audio files, use photoshop, or sometimes i could just be reading something on a website and it will just randomly shut off. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? thanks

Sounds like a crappy PSU. If you have a digital camera take a picture of the label on the PSU and post it here so we can see what the specs are. Or if you know a site that has the specs of your PSU then give us a link to it.

well this is actually my dads computer and i dont think he'd appreciate it if i took anything off. im just afraid of breaking something. i did go into the control panel and clicked on power options and then clicked on the tab UPS and it says....

THat is your Uninterruptible Power Supply, for when the power goes out. You will have to take off the side panel to see what your PSU (Power Supply Unit) is.
