Hi and welcome, Crysis requires 1 gig of RAM with Windows XP and 2 gigs with Windows Vista, so you probably won't even be able to start it. Any card is a big improvement over what you have now. I would honestly upgrade your processor and opt for a better video card and more RAM, because with the current setup your going for you will be able to run Crysis on low and at crappy frame rates. But your mobo is socket LGA 775 so you can upgrade to at least a Dual Core and you have PCI express which also gives you better options. Any questions just ask.

In short, no it's not.

Your CPU can not handle Crysis either. Honestly, sorry to say and i don't mean to be offensive, but nothing you have in your PC can handle crysis! I doubt your motherboard would support a true dual core. It may, but it's also only an OEM board.

You need to build an entire new rig, with a true dual core atleast, or a quad of course, with ATLEAST a 4670 or higher graphics card. And really the only reason a 4670 could play crysis is you use really low resolution 1024x768. If you get a better monitor, you'll need a better card.

You'd need around $500 to build a new PC capable of handing crysis. If you want, I can give you a rundown and a link to every component necessary.

You could attempt to purchase upgrades for your PC, but being that it's an OEM board it's risky if it would even work. But to try to play it safe, you need to stick to a 800 FSB cpu, 2x1gb dual channel kit of ddr2 ram thats known to have great compatability, a half decent video card thats still capable with older components, and a power supply to make sure it can handle everything!
So-

CPU, E5300 dual core-

Ram, Kingston ddr2-667-

Video card, 9600gt (it needs to have an external 6 pin connector because your motherboard only has a PCIe x16 1.0 slot not a 2.0, 1.0 cannot supply enough power to a higher end card that doesn't have an external power plug)

And a good power supply-

Thats $250....so yeah it would be twice that to build a good new system, but look what you got then. $250 to polish a turd, or $500 for a new system.

Yes that one is definitely better. It has a pentium D, one of the original dual cores but it's still atleast a true dual core. It also has 2gb of ram.

With that PC there, you would just need to get the graphics card and a power supply. Again the 9600gt and the corsair power supply that I linked to up there, so roughly like $130 to get that PC to run crysis decently smooth.

Honestly, I'd give up on crysis. You dont have anything that can really play it well, and the game is only alright without the amazing graphics. There are games out there that I feel are more fun that don't need as much hardware(counterstrike, tf2, etc)

^That seems like a good build plan. The only thing I would question is the Biostar video card with no reviews. It seems like a nice, powerful card, but Idk if Biostar makes quality cards or not. Also, just to confirm: I'm pretty sure that XFX card the OP listed at the top is a rip-off.

I've owned that exact model Biostar 9600gt, it's a good card.
Okay, well, in that case then I think the build you listed is great. Corsair makes some of the best PSUs around, too, so you cant go wrong with them. It definitely gets my :good:
