I want to play a game that needs a specific video card memory. Can I just download a update from the internet to increase the memory, or do I have to buy a new video card?

My computer is quite bad, with 8MB memory video card, and I want to play Rise of Nations Expansion: Patriots and Throne, which requires 16MB memory video card, so can I just download a update from the internet or do I have to buy a new video card?

if you have the expansion try it, if it doesnt work then buy a new card. to my knowledge theres nothing you can download to make it 16MB as all the memory externally stored on the card. look on ebay for cheap ones

No you'll have to purchase a new videocard as you cannot download hardware. If you have not done so already you can post in the video section of the forum and i'm sure lots would be happy to help you out.

If your computer is pretty old you probably don't have an agp slot...look into that if you can.
