Have I messed up my internal cd burner

I did not use my compute for a while because the PSU stopped working, I fixed that problem but now I have problems with my CD burner. It never used to happen before, but now I have to hit the top of my computer before my cd burner will open... this is really annoying not to mention barbaric, is there anyway to fix this?
 
try taking it apart and see if anything is keeping that drive from opening... maybe its off the track a little or something

probably need a new one though.
 
Maybe when you fixed the PSU you dislodged the CD Burners connectors. Pull them off and reconnect.
