having a big time issue again

I bought a whole new motherboard, psu, cpu, and video card, and ram. Installed it all with my old video card (geforce 8400gs 512mb) everything works fine. I install my new card (geforce 9600gso 768mb) It works for a second then I open a game and the screen turns pink and freezes. I restart and the card has lines and spots everywhere and looks like crap. I reinstalled windows vista and the card is still messed up. I tried reinstalling OS, i installed all pc drivers. I installed drivers from nvidia website, and off disk. nothing works. I got the plug for the power for the card and everything is plugged in right. But this card cannot be defected. someone has to know something. im on it in safe mode now.

Why can't it be defected?
 
yea, test it on another pc. also, check the temperatures.. it could be a slow fan or faulty fan. i suggest you send it back if the problem persists.

is that a good card anyways? anytime i see a card thats like x600 or y600 i think.. crappy card lol..

i thought it was funny my friend upgraded from a radeon 9600pro to a geforce 9600gt :)
