Well, I need a good video card that will be able to max out (or almost) most games. Even future games like Crysis 2, medal of honor.. etc.
Iv been planning on buying a 5870 for a while, but i found a 5850 with 2gigs of memory. Which choice would be better? 5850 with 2g of mem or a 5870 with 1g or mem?
Here are my choices;
5870:

OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161329) (Is it worth getting the higher priced one?)

The other one is slightly overclocked.
Go for the cheaper one cause you can overclock yourselves pretty easily using eVGa precision

Get the HD 5870. The cheaper one will be fine. The only real difference between the two is the more expensive is overclocked. You can easily overclock the lower priced one if you need.

evga precision does't do ATI cards.

MSI afterburner does both, I actually have come to like it a good bit more than EVGA precision since I switch cards so often.

Ohh Thanks didnt know that never used an ATI card

There's no point at all in having more than 1gb of memory at this point....unless you are gaming at 2560x1600 which I highly doubt. And if that was the case, a single 5850 wouldn't even be strong enough anyway even being 2gb.

I would personally get a gtx470, but thats up to you. It's stronger than a 5850, but that HIS 5870 is only $370 which is a good deal for such a strong card. The gtx470 offers you a mid point. Most 5850's are around $290-300, the 5870 is $370-400, and the gtx470 is $322 shipped plus it's an EVGA which is THE best brand when it comes to graphics cards hands down. HIS is not really a great brand.
