Having issues formatting my computer! HELP!

I have a Compaq Presario SR1611NX. (Yes, old.) I'm having trouble formatting the computer. I put the OS disc in, formatted it, it did everything it was supposed to, and I rebooted the computer. It goes straight to the setup menu and then the monitor says out of range. I have a dedicated graphics card and I've tried putting the monitor in BOTH the graphics card VGA slot and the stock VGA slot. That didn't work. The OS disc I am using works fine because I formatted another computer with the same disc. So that's not it. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks.
 
Nevermind I figured it out. I don't know how to delete a thread so this will be up here for a pointless eternity. Lol.
