Having issues OCing my Q6600

Hey,

Heres my specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Abit IP35
2x GeIL Ultra Low Latency DDR2 800Mhz Dual Channel RAM 1GB (@2.1v as recommended)
Corsair HX520w Modular PSU
BFG OC2 8800GT
Antec Nine Hundred Case

The FSB multiplier is at the max of 9x if I push the FSB upto 300Mhz for a OC of 2.4 > 2.7 Ghz the following happens:

- Turn on my computer and nothing happens, no output from graphics card and no BIOS bleep

- Turn on my computer and get the BIOS screen (logo of BIOS manufacture, etc.) but no POST, just hangs there forever.

Tried increasing my vcore a little with no result.

What I am doing wrong?

Fyi the Q6600 is G0 revision.

Thanks,

Tom

if you don't already have the FSB and memory bus unlocked you may want to try that and ONLY overclock the processor while leaving the memory alone to see if that helps. maybe try bumping up the FSB voltage a little bit?? i have the same processor and i've been able to get it to 2.7 GHz no problem by doing these things but i cannot get it past that.

oh and i'm assuming you've already gotten the latest bios for your mobo. Also, in my experience, i get better results overclocking in the bios rather than in the OS.
