Having lots of crashes in some games

In some games I keep crashing constantly.. For example age of empires 3 and the new aoe: online.
Also used to crash constantly in APB and now I continue crashing in APB: Reloaded.

Crashes happen about once per hour.
Sometimes just the game crashes but most often I get the blue screen (of death).
I've got directx and my graphic card driver up to date too.

My harware:
OS: Win Vista 32bit
Processor: Intel core 2 duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00ghz 2.67ghz
4gb RAM
gfx: ATI Radeon HD 4800 series

I run ccleaner and registry easy to clean up regularly and do defrags every few months.

I only get crashes in few select games as well.
I can play tons of other games normally.. So it's gotta be something about the games I've named that causes the crashes.. But I'm the only one who gets them, I don't hear anyone else getting them on their forums.
I meet the requirements for the games too.
 
Take the side off your case and have a look what it says on the side of the PSU.

As for drivers, I didn't mean where from, I mean how did you install them. You downloaded them and then what, just installed them straight away?
 
Sorry for long delay.. I've been doing a lot of research and testing.

It's 400w PSU.
I got 2 ram sticks hat are 2gb each.
I tested memtest with them both in... got 8 errors.
tested to remove the one in second slot.. no errors.
switched it into first slot and removed the other one.... no errors.

tried to put both in again... couldnt boot computer up.
So I'm atm running the pc with just one of the ram sticks.
 
ok, so.. .from what your telling us, it will boot no errors with only one stick, and it does not matter which stick it is, but both sticks causes crash or error?
If that is true, did you check individual sticks in both ram slots? It could be a failing RAM slot on the motherboard.

Is it possible that overheating caused this? because I nothing that the holes on the side were all covered in dust hehe. Could the overheating of caused the errors in memtest when I had both cards in?

I also wonder.. Why could I boot the computer before with both cards in.. but not now? Even though that before it gave me errors and crashes.. I could still boot it with both in.
 
hit print screen with CPUz up, then paste it into paint and save it. Upload it to either imageshack or photobucket, then link it here.

And if your memory isn't working properly, it is more than possible that the data it takes from your hard drive, then puts back, isn't correct data, and is corrupting your main drive, hence it getting steadily worse, and now at the point where it won't boot at all

It really does sound a lot like that!
but, I don't get any crashes now with just 1 card in.

It's just... a lot laggier ofcourse.. with just half the memory hehe.

BTW, I formated the computer few days ago.. So that should of removed any corruptness in hdd?

What does it say on the SPD tab? That is the one which has the information about the specific sticks of memory.

Just because it is a fresh install doesn't men the memory isn'ts till corrupting. Think about it, the data was going DVD > > Memory > CPU > Memory > Hard drive (missing out chipset). In those two cycles of the memory, which is actually 4, data in from DVD, data out to CPU, data in from CPU, data out to hard drive.

If just one of those in every million is incorrect, when you are talking ~6.8 * 10^10 1's and 0's getting read through memory during installation (assuming 20GB data), that's just under 700,000 incorrect bits on your hard drive, which, in the wrong places, can, and will, cause problems.

Test each stick of memory in each DIMM slot on your motherboard and see which, if any, cause problems, in which, if any, slots, when only one stick is used

oh, and in my stupidity at the time of posting the previous reply, there is an easier way to post up pictures - do everything up to the save in paint, but instead of uploading to photobucket/imageshack, click add attachment when you are posting a reply, choose the picture and it will post the picture as well underneath your reply
 
Makes sense what you say..
I couldn't start the computer when I tried putting one in second slot..
So maybe the slot is broken? But it doesn't make sense... Before I removed the stick from the 2nd slot I could start up computer fine.. It's like I broke the slot while testing?? :S Which I'm sure I didn't.

Dosent matter when it broke, it isnt working. Try updating your BIOS from the manufacturer, then retry the slot.
If thta dont work, then you may need a new motherboard.
 
Guys, I have once again done a last test.. I been really lazy to fix my computer (lots of effort replacing motherboard) so I been using just 2gb ram with 1 stick and still am.

But it's time for me to update some parts in my pc.. at the very minimum get 4gb ram.

I think last time I tested... and I'm embarrassed to say but I simply didn't insert the stick properly into the second ram slot.

I've now memtested both of the ram sticks one at a time in both slots (4 tests). NO ERRORS. Then I insert both at same time and get lots of errors.

So I removed one and am running pc on just one again.

I want to fix my pc.. Would you say this is motherboard problem or ram stick? Because I can run PC without errors with either stick in either slot fine.. but not with both same time.. so strange.
