I have been having nothing but problems with win xp. I have all the free anti-virus and spyware programs installed (spybot, avg, spyware terminator) and have just run the scans and removed the virus and spyware that the programs found but I still have freezes and weird winxp behavior occurring.
I have my security settings on high with internet explorer and I still get pop-ups. I noticed that I can change my security settings and then they will change automatically once I reopen the program the next time I boot my computer.
Also when I try to close applications that are not responding or have frozen on me I can't even get them to quit. The windows task manager also freeze and then it forces me to do a force shut down and reboot the computer.
I have spend a couple hours today using the programs I have to scan the computer for threats and spyware, do a disk defrag, clean up disk space using the winxp program, clean the registry with a program that does it for me (I don't do that manually as I know it can be risky if one doesn't know what their doing) and the whole nine yards and I still have dozens of problems.
Honestly, I have no idea what I am doing wrong here.
Maybe this is just windows. I never ever have these problems on my mac computer to date.
