Having Problems Installing Windows

Hello, I'm having a problem installing windows , and after 4 days worth of attempts, I'm asking for help.
Has anyone ever gotten this error while trying to run the windows install off of the hard drive (right after you finish installing and it gives you 15 seconds to eject the disks and it then boots from hard drive):

Windows could not start because of a hardware configuration problem.
Could
not read from selected boot disk. Check boot path and dick hardware.
Please
check the windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your
hardware reference manuals for additional information.

I know all my hardware is working good, because I had windows running on it earlier.

Gigabyte P4 Titan Motherboard (Integrated promise raid chip)
2x 120GB WD Caviers in RAID 1 (for some reason 1 is 35MB larger than the other...)
512MB RD-RAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4200
P4 2.53GHz
DVD-ROM Drive (Generic)
CD-RW Drive (Again, Generic)
Iomega ZIP100
Floppy Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
Trying to install WinXP Home, have also tried Pro, same error message.
400W PSU

Help?

i have never had xp pro or home prompt me to eject the disk upon installing... however, what you can try is to not have your zip drive plugged in during installation.

when you mean from hdd, i couldn't really follow where you went.. but im guessing you mean when its about done it asks you to eject the disc?

oh, and are you installing with the autostart interface when you are logged onto your pc? or during boot and having it start from your cd/dvd drive?
[this is the way i install and have not been prompt to take the cd or not out because when booting, it will ask to press a key to boot from the cd.. so when it is about done and reboots, just dont press a key]

I think hes saying that hes trying to install windows xp from files on his hard drive. If so, it wont work since windows is re-writing the files anyway. Try putting them on CD's and boot from there.
