Having problems : please help

It just started yesterday...

I was on my pc, on the net as usual, had to restart my pc, then when i came back i couldnt reach the net...

I checked the properties of the TCP/IP, and everything looked fine (atleast i thoguht)

I can send packets, but cannot recieve them: then when i try to use the repair tool, i get this message: The following operations failed : Renewing the IP address

I have a Wireless Lnksys router, but i dont think thats the problem because every other computer that is in my house is working (that would be 12)

LLike I said, I can send packets, but not receive them.

Please help this is driving me nuts!

Cable or DSL? Wired or wireless router? When i have an issue like this, the first thing I do is shutdown my computer, pull the power plug on the cable modem and router, wait about a minute, plug in cable modem and wait till the send/receive/online lights are all lit, plug in the router, fire up computer. 99% of the time that takes care of it for me. Best of luck
 
Reminds me of a joke...

3 men carpooling to work one day (an engineer, a manager, an MCSE). the car breaks down, the engineer says "I'll take a look and fix it", the manager says "I'll call a tow truck or mechanic and have him fix it", the MSCE says, "Wait!... lets rollup all the windows, close the doors, then all of us get out of the car and then we'll all get back into the car!" :rolleyes:
