Having problems with gaming

When I play counter-strike 1.6 I always average 30fps, lowest 10fps, highest 50fps and I don't know what's the problem, it even tops at 49-50 fps in menu! I've tried 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 resolutions and in all of the 3 resolutions all SAME FPS so i know there has to be a problem, Isn't it the higher the resolution, the less fps you have? afew days ago I was able to get 60fps avg lowest 40fps highest 99fps and it use to stay at 99fps tops in menu. Anyone know what's wrong? I've tried turning vsync off same thing.
 
maybe the AA and AF settings have changed in the driver? look if theire still set to application controlled.
 
OH UH, im guessing thats antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. I had no idea what AA and AF were but i did take them off, I thought by taking them off would make my game go faster since it was under the option where Vsync was. Now that I put it back to application controlled for both of them, the fps is still the same. I don't understand why its like this. When I'm in menu its 50fps tops! I goto settings it goes -50%, 25fps, then when I goto advanced settings it stables at 9-10FPS! but I don't get it, I'm looking at something that is not moving, im staring at the options going 10fps!

BS with a 6800gs and a x2 4400 your kidding right?
and if you arent, you kno you can tweak CSS so everything looks crappy but you get higher fps? right?
also i think tweaking would help you out davie or have you already tried this?? if your wondering wat tweaking is, its when you change some things and add commands in the .cfg file so you get CS to run better. you can also type them in the console when playing but its better to make an autoexc.cfg file that automatically does the commands once you play.

YES!!! I just changed my cpu fan, some fan i bought form ebay for 0.99cents and now I avg 60FPS AGAIN, YEH! max 99fps in menu like last time!
