Having Problems with wireless...

Well i just bought a new NETGEAR N750 Wireless Dual Band because my old router wasnt cutting it. The router is about 75 to 100 ft away and i get 2/5 bars, so i want to increase the range of it but i dont know how. Secondly it doesnt seem to want to connect to anything when the security options is on. Any advice?
 
You can get a range extender to extend the range. And when you set a password, you have to enter the password to be able to use the internet
