HD 2900 xt 1 gb

Up until today I was intending to buy the 8800 gtx. however i have seen that ati are releasing the 1gb hd 2900 xt, for the same price AND looks considerably better specs on paper. Does anybody know which one is best??

Secondly are there any problems mixing ati gfx cards with intel CPUs?
 
I don't think 1GB ram would make any difference. So, probably the 8800GTX would perform better. And HD2900XT has other issues like power consumption and noise.

If they were the same price I would go with 8800GTX.
