HD 3870 questions

SO I just got a Sapphire HD 3870, I got the card in and drivers installed, but have a few questions.

1) I upgraded from an Nvidia 7600GT, do I need to unistall the Nvidia drivers, or cna I leave them? If so which drivers do you get rid of?

2) I'm not getting any sounds out of my speakers now, any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for any help

Before you change video cards, you were supposed to remove all previous software and/or drivers.

As for no sound, check your sound card driver and update.

the 3870 is an ATI card and not an Nvidia card, so Nvidia drivers certainly won't work with that card.

I know the Nvidia drivers will not work for an ATI card. That's why I didn't unistall the Nvidia before installing the card and drivers (plus the instructions didn't mention it).

I unistalled the Nvidia drivers and still no sounds.

However, the ATI drivers have their own HD sound drivers, since I don;t have HD sound (no output or speakers actually) I just switched back the Nvidia nForce audio driver (different fromt he display driver I unistalled) and have sound now.

I think this it sould be OK now.
