HD access

I recently got rid of my desktop pc and got a laptop. I kept the old hard drive, so I could use it as an external one. It all seems to work fine, except I get an "access denied" message on some folders. I tried to boot up from the external so I could switch the passwords off, but the bios doesn't support boot from usb. I tried to get a bios update, but it's only available on floppy and my laptop doesn't have one! Does anyone know a way I can do this?
 
You have to take ownership of the folders. It sounds like you are having troubles accessing the "My Documents" folders.
