hd audio or ac 97 connector?

on my new pc case the front panel hd audio connecter also has an ac97 connector attached to it?
whats the difference?
do i use both or just 1 of them?

Mines has both aswell i think...i used the HD audio.

If your mobo is new than they usualy come with HD audio.

But i now have a dedicated soundcard so.

Only one or the other, it's impossible to connect both.
Always use the HD if you can.

Use the HD Audio connector. also make sure that the sound is set to HD and not AC97 in the BIOS.
