Hd Cloning

I currently have a 20 gig Wester Digital PATA hard drive which is fairly nothing. Im planning on purchasing a new 120 gig SATA Hd. The problem is I really don't want to re-install the OS, instead I want to copy the exact old Hd files including the OS (Windows XP Proffesional) to the newer SATA HD. Im not to sure on what I need to do.

I am pretty sure that is illegeal of impossable. If the os is installed on a dell, hp, compaq, etc... then no it will not work. If it did wouldn't everyone just do what you are trying to do? Yes, I am pretty sure it won't work.
