HD come with Sata cable?

Drives seeing cables included are generally retail not oem purchases with everything included in the retail box. If you already ordered a board recently for a custom case you will likely find one or two red color sata data type cables included.

Nothing wrong there. Other places will charge more or even less when having sales like the one seen at http://www.directron.com/satacable.html

At this time where sata drives are seen in use more often you can go by preference for dressing a case up or simply by price. Generally the ones that come with boards are adequate but by no means the best to find or simply another color is preferred.

( Gee? Does that mean I get plenty of vitamin C with the orange ones here? :P )

Thanks for the help!! The price wasnt that bad for the one I posted b/c the hdd was within the budget and I had extra money anyways. Did I say extra money? LOL

The price at newegg still isn't bad for the one posted on the link there. Other vendors charge through the ceiling pricewise for any of the "not so boring" uv and other styles.

Many still see about $3 for the typical 18" while some are a lot higher for the same thing! But if you need a variety for some reason, http://store.pchcables.com/seatapr.html

I didnt even think about the length! Oops. The one I got is 36" and I have a stock HP case. LOL Gonna be a little extra wire to hide somewhere! LOL

If you buy retail they will often stick a cable in. But plan buying a few in case you order another drive later since you can see a discount.

Only a full tower or real modded out case would ever require a 36" cable. Even the 18" length can be a little more then needed for most atx style cases since drives generally go in the lower 3 1/2" bays with any optical in the 5 1/4"s above.

The Antec 900 in use here is one model case you could consider an exception seeing the board mounted slightly higher in the case with the twin drive cages at the bottom there.

If you bought the cable locally you could try exchanging it for a shorter one to solve that fast. Just bring it back and say it was too long. Most will take returns right away without even nodding.

I think we get the point and we don't need anymore info!
