HD error.

Here's the problem; went and restarted my laptop, when it came back on, BSOD. Tried all modes. Thuoght of fixing windows, but as many may know, when buying a laptop, you don't get an XP cd (or at least I didn't). Anyways, took out the HD from the laptop, and decided I'd connect it to the Desktop and take a look it (check it for virus, spyware, etc.). Went to open the drive, and it's been corrupted. Can't even open it. (The HD is still good, as to the fact that I have another partition with 2 folders on it, and they are still readable.) So it's just the partition that has XP on it. How do I fix it? or at least get the files that I need off of it? I've heard it's possible, but not sure how.
Thx

if the desktop is a windows xp this should work connect the laptop hdd to the desktop run scandisk and that should fix it

heres what i did, this guy gave me an old computer when i started it up the computer displayed an error that the system folder was corupted so i hooked it up as a slave on my windows xp i started it up, looked at the files they were corupted as the error said so i restarted and the blue screen with xp in the corner it found that the disk was corupted
and it took about 3hrs for xp to fix it and it never had an error again

(im not good at writing)hope this can help you

Here's the problem, I have connected it to my desktop, but it's looking like its a corrupted partition, as I can't get to any of the files; I can't even open the partition, it gives me an error (in turn, I can't scan it)....it says it's "corrupted".

So, I"m believing that it's a corrupted partition, but I found a way to get all my files off. Stellar PHeonix, great little program.
