do you really need a dedicated GPU just to play HD movies? my intel x3100 seems to play HD trailers that I download from the internet ok, but if I got an HD DVD player for my computer, would it still play smoothly?

can it really play 1080p smoothly? I dont think so.to decode by your cpu is too slow.
maybe 720p is just ok,but 1080p is gonna be tomorrow mainstream.
