HD serial number change: big problem!!

Hi

I did a ****ing mistake by changing my partitions serial numbers! I thought it was safe to do that, just like changing the computer name. I used this program: Hard Disk Serial Number Changer. http://www.ghacks.net/2009/04/22/hard-disk-serial-number-changer/

Now i cant access windows xp, and not even in safe mode... I remember the previous serial numbers, is there a way to repair? I can go in windows xp recovery console but dont know what to do.

why on earth would you change that???

if you have another computer, hook this up as a secondary drive, and change it back to what it was.

You can not boot Windows from a USB hard drive. Mount the drive on an eSATA bus or internally if you want to use it as a boot drive.

Regarding your boot problem, try booting into the recovery console and run FIXMBR.
