ok I already have my os on my Seagate Cheetah 450GB 15000 RPM HardDrive
is there any way for me to get it over to a SSD drive without reinstalling everything again, it took 3 hours last time for everything lol. Trying to get SSD to hold the os and hard drive for everything else, till I can grab another cheetah and run them in RAID....oh is RAID still a thing lol.

Your best bet is to fresh install to an SSD drive as you will get best performance that way. And to tell you the truth, those seagate drives are overrated. You want better perforamance, stop using them and use SSD drives. Newer technology anyway.

As stated, an SSD will be a lot faster than the Cheetah, or even Cheetahs in RAID0.

It'd be worth it to just do a fresh install.

You can clone HDDs to SSDs and yes it will work, but when you do a fresh install of Windows on an SSD it optimises itself to run on an SSD so I would recommend doing a fresh install.

And it's nice to have a new drive and a new install. Feels fresh and fast! :)

The alignment can be achieved depending on the cloning software, so that's not an issue and even if it isn't aligned you can use a program called Paragon Alignment Tool 4.0 Professional. Or for free http://www.disk-partition.com/download-home.html.

I would always clone because it's such a pain to reconfigure the OS and reinstall everything. If he doesn't have a lot of stuff to reinstall then by all means just install a fresh copy of Windows.

Just a tip to the OP. There are several things you should do to optimize your SSD life and performance. One thing you NEVER do is defrag the SSD and turn off auto defrag under the HDD properties. http://www.techradar.com/us/news/co...s-to-optimise-your-drive-s-performance-943984

Here's my laptop's SSD stats. Gets a licking and keeps on ticking. LOL! It's just a 60GB a G.Skill Sniper.
