I want to buy a new Ati Radeon HD3850 X2.
Do I need a motherboard with Crossfire support?
And do I need PCIe 2.0 or can I use PCIe1?

you mean 3870X2?

no the board does not need to be crossfire supported. All you need is a single PCIe x16 slot and a power supply to run it. And PCIe 2.0 works on PCIe 1.0. No difference really..

To me, the 3870X2 is a 3850X2. Since it uses DDR3 memory lol..

So if you had two physical HD3870's then you would need a Crossfire board, but if you had an X2 you wouldnt?
