HD4870 1GB or 512MB

Do we have solid evidence that the 1GB version is worth the extra money on resolutions 1680x and under? I ask b/c I cant decide between the two, I use 1440x900 atm on my 19in but some are saying that it will even make that rez look better, it also runs kewler and takes less power. Anyone know if it is true? I dont mind droppnig $40 extra to make sure I will get better quality.

Ohh my bad.

I can certainly say from experience that a single 4870 512mb is phenomenal. 2 is flat out ridiculous.

If the price between the 2 is only $40 then maybe go with 1GB.

Do you plan to get a second card down the road?!

Honestly, probably not. I dont rly like Xfire/SLI bc I feel it isnt worth the money (Gets old, then I have 2 paper weights :). I will just upgrade to the next best thing when it releases like I did with my 9600gt.

Okay cool..

Well if thats the case then go 1GB or an X2...

..either way a 4800-series is gonna rock ur socks.
