HD4890 £125 or wait?

I´m not sure the prices will come down that much. I imagine ATI´s 5xxx cards are going to be pricey and as such wont affect their lower priced cards. This is just my 2c.
We´ll know this week. :)

Here´s the same card a bit cheaper.

I agree, everyone saying the same things that they should wait for the 5xxx series to come out,but like Mr soft said they will be pricy, and because the 4890 is still a newly released card they will hold their value.

They could even go up in price.
Scenario 2 : There is a big rush on 48xx because of the price shock.
Stockists might be panicking now, trying to get rid of what they think will be outdated stock, which will now be in demand for all those that were waiting for launch date.
High demand can lead to price hikes, look at the 4770.

the powercolor card you were looking at, cheaper here ;)

they are both clocked the same and everything and reviews seem to say almost exact same performance and overclocking capabilities, but the cooler seems to have problems with sound and blowing air into the case on both cards too

reviews there.

Or, you could always go with XFX, another very well known and respected brand for a bit more than the powercolor card from scan:

Some one linked that cheaper one before but i forgot to add it! Its the only one in stock now too so I have my choice made for me :D Thanks for the advice peeps!

I've got an accelero twin turbo fan on my current GPU will that fit this too?

Am I going to need a new psu i have the stock 450 Antec one, however for the 4890 it recommends a 500w one? Is it necessary for me to upgrade straight away or will it be okay for a bit?

how many amps does that PSU have? I'd say it would be fine for wattage if you don't have like 6 HDD's and 4 DVD burners.
