Why does my pc freeze when installing motorola sm56 s/phone modem drivers.
Also explorer shws slave drive as "e" and cdrom as "d". Any help to sort these out?

Goto device manage, disable the optical drive and change the drive letter for the harddrive and then reenable rhe optical drive and you'll be set

thanks. On hdd I got that fixed last night. Anything on the sm56??

Found this on the net:

Motorola's site indicated a clean install (not an upgrade) of Windows XP is required to get the SM56 to function in XP; and, that once installed, the driver cannot be upgraded.
