Hdd Box Question

Hi,
I hope this is in the right spot. I am wondering does anyone know what the name is for a box which holds just HDDs and connects to a network or computer?
I have only seen Network Area Storage kits (which have HDD in them already). I just need like a computer case to hold my hdds so I can connect it to my laptop.

NAS kits generally come with software so you can let it automatically backup your files. The enclosures don't attach to the network but you plug them in via USB or firewire.
