Im quite a novice with computers and upon installing XP on my new 640 gb HDD i noticed that only 127 gb are recognized. How do i utilize my HDD full capacity? THX guys.

If you used a version of Windows that does not include SP2, it will only recognize that amount of HDD space.

You have one of two options. The first one is to slipstream your copy of XP with SP2 and SP3 using a program called nLite and reinstall windows.

Your second option is to use a LiveCD of gParted to expand the size of your partition.

Third option: if you don't wish your windows-partition to be that big anyway, just install the newest service pack, go into disk management and create new partition(s) on the free space that will appear.

Didn't think of that. Though sometimes other partitions are more confusing to less-savvy users.
