I'm moving my hdd from old computer to new built. Is there anyway I can copy Xp-Sp3 and all the updates from the hdd to a flash drive, then after I install hdd reinstall Xp-Sp3 & updates to the hdd on the new built? Do I format the hdd before or after I install it in the new built? I have the key and disc for xp-sp2 but the last time I did a install I had trouble completing the install and then the time it took to download sp-3 and all the updates was forever.
Thanks

You would have to install XP fresh as its a totally new system with most likely differant hardware on it. However, what type of XP license do you have? Is it OEM or full version?

I have a full edition and the upgrade/with sp2 on it.Both are with the licence key. I dread the thought of waiting for sp3 and all the updates to download and then install so I thought if I could put XP-Sp3/updates on a flash drive from the hdd before I transfer it to the new built it would be faster and easier. The rest of the stuff on the hdd is minor things so I plan to do a complete format anyway. Can I download sp3 onto the flash drive and then install it on the hdd after I install the hdd in new built?
Thanks

You can download SP3 and slipstream it into a new install cd so that when you install SP3 is already applied to it. Then all you have to do is download the updates since SP3. You can use a program called Autostreamer to slipstream SP3 into a new XP install cd.

Nlite will also do that.
