HDMI connect issue

I have been fighting this problem for a long time now. When I switch video to the pc input on TV all I get is snow. I then have to turn the TV off and back on or unplug HDMI cable and plug back in and video works. I just installed a HDMI audio reciever and hope that would fix problem. Still no picture when switch to pc on reciever. When I call up the reciever menu it is pink after switching to pc input. Turn the reciever off and back on and picture comes on. I bought another high quility HDMI cable and same thing. I read that using a HDMI switch might fix so I bought one and still no help. From researching on the web I think it has to do with some kind of handshake problem but can not find a solution. My laptop is:

HP Pavilion g7t

Product number: LX514AV

I thought about trying an external video card but it looks like they just output 2 channel stereo.

First of all you should never connect you pc to a receiver or other saurce then connect to tv if that's the case.

you should connect PC cable strait to Display thorough HDMI,
you may try to get an HDMI splitter and connect all sources, but you may have to switch the pc input in the switch prior to PC booting up.

I have 2 HDMI inputs in my tv and i use one to the pc only and the other i have an HDMI splitter which i connect PS3,Sat receiver, and so on and that works great.

I have had it connected straight to the tv for the last several years with the problem of either turning tv off and back on or unplug cable and plug back in either of which I do not like to do.
