HDMI to DVI adapter

I am looking at buying 1 of 2 Dell monitors. The SP2309W or G2410. The G2410 only has dvi and vga ports, while the SP2309W has hdmi, dvi and vga. My computer only has a hdmi port. The G2410 has LED backlighting,is 24" with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, while the SP2309W is 23" but has a resolution of 2048 x 1152 and more ergonomic features.

I have reviews of both of these monitors and they seem to be of good quality and within my price point (looking at DELL because I receive a company discount).

I would be using this monitor mainly for gaming so I would like the good picture quality and a reasonable response time.

Do HDMI to DVI adapters create noticeable video lag?
Which of the 2 monitors would your suggest, considering I'd have to buy a hdmi to dvi adapter if i bought the g2410?

Are there any other monitors you'd suggest of similar quality and price point ( around $200 - $300 CAD)?

hdmi is dvi with audio. there should be no lag at all. i personally would just go with the sp2309w. better response time, integrated webcam, better brightness rating, and a better resolution. plus, like you said, then you wouldn't have to deal with an adapter.

If you like movies etc the 24 has a "normal" aspect ratio. You lose audio from HDMI to DVI. No other problems.

What about the Asus MS238H, i saw it mentioned in another thread? I could get them both for around the same price. Any thoughts?

that asus looks really nice. ultra thin, cool stand, and touch sensitive buttons. it has a little lower brightness and its resolution is lower but at those sizes you really shouldn't notice much of a difference.
