Hey all ive searched around but couldnt really find what i was looking for so i thought id ask. My friend is building me a new rig and said he would give me a old ati card that he has but has never used. so later he said i could use my 32" lcd tv as a monitor. which sounded cool but i wanted to know if this video card would work since its older. it only has an s video connection which my tv has also is that enough? btw this is the setup we have created together

DVD BURN SAMSUNG SH-S202J 20X %
HD 500G|WD 7K 16M SATA2 WD5000AAKS
MEM 2Gx2|GSK F2-6400CL4D-4GBPK R
MB GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L P35+ICH9
CPU INTEL|C2Q Q6600 2.40G 775 8M R

I am getting a case/450w psu/video card from him should i get a better card or just use his older ati card until better cards come out? thanks in advance

your lcd tv will probably have a vga or dvi port on the back, in which case you just connect it in the same way you would a normal monitor

S-Video is only standard definition, I would not use it as a way to connect your HDTV to your PC. If you want to be able to use your HDTV to view text, or to have at least decent image/video quality, you should use either component, VGA, DVI, or HDMI.

yes, it won't look very good with s-video, even doing normal computing.
