HDTV Video File on Non-HDTV Computer / VDU

Hello all.

Quick question. If I had a HDTV video file that I wanted to watch on my computer yet my computer isn't HDTV, would I notice any issues with watching the video footage such as a drop in detail, blurring etc? Or would it be like watching any average non-hdtv video file?

Best regards,

Breaks.

How well it plays pretty much depends on your video card. My crappy card can play HD clips (such as from Microsoft.com), but it jumps like crazy. Also, the resolution is going to be anywhere from a little bit to a few inches bigger than your screen, depending on your resolution (mine is 1024x768). So you're gonna have to squeeze the video to see it all.

Well my card is a: HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 V2 TURBO SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3 (PCI-E) and I'm running the resolution 1280 x 1024. That sufficient for a decent watch?
