I typically just check bios, going back to the original question, I jst installed a 820 and on my first startup I was getting 52-53, assuming that's idle since I'm in bios

so,do you think that i need to change my fan setup for my case?

how much thermal past do you use? what is your Vcore?

the CPU's a 640, but still a Prescott core

so does that mean it is one of the hot ones or is something still not right and it should be cooler?

it gonna be pumping out some decent heat, nothing excessive like the 3.4ghz socket478 Prescotts mind u

well 8 fans is what i was thinking of getting cos i want it to be cold ><

fans increase airflow, they dont decrease temperature

but what software do u guys use to get the temperatures from the CPU? i use SpeedFan but i dont think its all that :/

50C idle is a but on the hot side but not unheard of ... i personally would be expecting low-mid 40s tho
