I am gettin ready to purchase my Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 and im trying to decide which HS and Fan option to go with. Should I go with stock setup or just buy the CPU and go with a different cooling option?? Any suggestions would be great, Thanx....:D

i have a Zalman for my amd quad and it runs at 21C and its not water cooled. so try and find a zalman that will fit a intel. they word amazingly.

I'm reading a lot about RAM clearence and size. I have an ultra mid tower, the MB im gonna combine it with is the Asus Maximus. How is yours on clearence???

Clearence is fine, although, I will admit, I worried about that before I built the rig. I even have a 120mm fan on the side panel. It looks kinda tight, but you should have enough room.

wow thats huge lol, it seems like it never gets hot in there lol. I also see that your p/s is on the bottom which leaves you room up top for that massive HS.

or you could go for a thermalright 120, they are massive but they seem to cool even better then the zalmans

I did some research and decided to go with the Ultra chilltec, I really like the technology it uses. Does anybody have any feedback on this Fan??

Looks pretty cool. If it fits inside the case, go for it. Post your temps after you install it. You're overclocking the QX9650, right?

You'd pay $1,100 for a CPU, but still use the stock HSF? lol

Why not go with water cooling?

I did not go with stock HSF, as I stated above I purchased the Ultra Chilltec HSF. I don't think I want to get involved with water cooling yet. If I see that my temps are high I might think about it, but I like what I have read about the Chilltec.
