Heatsink might be too big for RAM?!

Ok we have already established that I need a new heatsink for my CPU... See previous post if you want details, link below:

For the ones that don't want to click on a simple link; I have a Core i-7 3.06GHz 950, I don't do any overclocking (yet)... I decided to upgrade to Thermaltake Frio:

But now I read several complains it might be too big the RAM I have which is Corsair Dominator 6GB, I use only 3 of my RAM slots on motherboard; The Rampage Formula III by ASUS (ROG). What do you guys think? Too big? Thank you for the input...:D

ive looked at several installations of that um...yea its a monster thats all i can discribe it, and its so low to the system board that it seems to obscure one of your memory slots at least between amd and intel...so you will be limited in how much ram you will be able to install. if you were wanting to keep stuff clear, id recommend a h60, but thats my two cents, may not cool as awesomely but will do two things

1) takes strain off your system board by removing the massive amount of metal off of the board, and mounting it to the chassis

2) will give you a little more flexibility in your chassis selection, you should still be able to use a mid tower case with that cooler, as long as you have a 120mm fan port at the back

ive not really been a fan of the stack coolers...their heavy...and their big...if computers were not in a tower configuration, i would recommend them more, just seems like too much strain to put on a motherboard, even with a backing plate. if i was going to go with a stack cooler id stick with a 92 mm fan on one at max...

hell i still have a OCZ vendetta 2 in box, reason i dont use it? its huge...its heavy...and eh i dont trust it, ive killed a mobo already with one of those damn things. (really it was a OCZ Vindicator, and the bugger had a crappy retention setup for amd....it would simply put either not enough force on the clip or too much...and *snap* there went my am2 nforce 570a motherboard...)

tho i will admit you do get awesome performance out of the large stack coolers...but i just do not trust the amount of strain its putting on your board.

-also another thing to remember, with that cooler, you can possibly use the extra slots, but you will be only able to use one fan, as far as i can see, so no push pull configuration if you want all six slots

Well I only use 3 slots of the 6 XD but it still looks like I will have trouble with it. I don't care what I replace it with, so long it works good :) the H60 isn't that the liquid cooled one?

yes. i have a h50, only issue i had was my motherboard was positioning the first PCI-e slot closer to the 120mm fan i mounted my radiator to, and meant i needed to offset it to be able to simply mount it, this was on a biostar n750 motherboard and i managed to mount it...with only 2 screws out of the four. the h60 is supposed to be a much improved version of the h60, but it will not outperform a stack cooler, but i feel its easier to fit in a cramped case

yea im aware your only using 3 of 6 slots, i just dont like the idea of crippling your memory slots by using a gigantic cooler, i had a similar problem to this with a rosewill stack cooler, but was able to get over it by simply rotating the fan's mounting bracket 180 degrees on the heatsink, and it gave me enough clearance to mount the cpu cooler, and have all four of my ram slots free and usable.
